- My Dixie Chicks CD
The following article will show you how to install a portable Data Shredder/Destroyer/Eraser on a thumb drive that will permanently delete any file you choose on any computer to DOD and higher standards.
For those of you that don’t know; when you delete something on your computer it is not actually deleted, your computer basically just stops showing the file. It is still there, you just can’t see it.
An example would be when you erase a drawing or words on a chalkboard you can still see a shadow of what you wrote. What a data Shredder/Destroyer does is take a power grinder over your erased chalkboard.
One of the guys here at DV Mag (James G) has quite a bit of Computer Forensics experience and he can tell you with 100% certainty if you do not use a data shredder even a poorly trained tech ops guy can retrieve anything that you thought was deleted.
To permanently delete a file or data you must use a program to rewrite over the data several times. Even better is to have one that you can carry with you and use on any computer.

- Well Used and Abused CRKT M60 SOTFB
When I say that this knife was field tested – I mean FIELD TESTED! I have never owned a knife that I have used and abused as much as this one. I carried it everyday over a 3 ½ year period wile I was working in Iraq and on dozens of camping and hunting trips in Southeast Asian Jungles. To this day it is still my “go to” knife for every occasion I need to carry a knife (except dinnertime).
The first thing you notice when you pick up the hefty CRKT M60 SOTFB is it feels like a solid chunk of steel in your hands. This knife is pretty much just the blade and a couple of handle panels and that’s where its toughness comes from – simplicity. The blade is full tang, the entire shape of the blade and handle is a single hunk of steel.

- OH MY GOD – MY BALLS ARE ON FIRE!
So you know MMA, Karate, Systema, Krav Maga, Keysi, Jeet Kune Do, Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu and the Ancient Arts of the Ninja? You have 38 Black Belts, you are an ex-Navy SEAL and you have killed commies with your bare hands in every jungle from Cambodia to Cuba.
Well whoopee-doo Bruce Thompson – Cuz a single shot to the balls will drop you
That’s Right.
Pretty much if someone kicks you in the Junk as hard as they can the fight is over, especially if it is a good solid kick with the tip of a shoe right behind the Man Tonsils.
Now I have heard many people saying “I can take a shot in the Kerbangers and keep fighting” at least a hundred times, and I call BS. I suspect that this is coming from someone who has never had a true kick in the Nads.
How do I know?

- BLACKHAWK! S.T.R.I.K.E. Utility Speed Clip Nalgene Bottle Poc
I have been a big fan of Nalgene Bottles for years, they have a fat wide mouth, don’t leave your water with a plastic taste and are easy to clean even after you have left them unwashed for long periods of time.
So I was thrilled when I found out that BLACKHAWK! made a PALS Pouch for 32 oz Nalgene Bottles. Now I know that some people have negative things to say about BLACKHAWK! Gear but in my opinion BH gear is fine, a bit overpriced but its still good gear.
I do think they could chill out with using CAPITAL LETTERS and EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!! on their name and products and stop renaming things that already exist, like calling PALS webbing S.T.R.I.K.E – they should also stop trying to beat imdb.com for the world’s slowest website award.

- Tekna Security Card Blade Extended
You may remember the Tekna Security Card and the above catchphrase from ads in Soldier of Fortune Magazine and American Survival Guide back in the 80’s. I wasn’t old enough back then to buy one (plus I was a poor kid with no cash) but I really wanted one.
So when I recently had a chance to buy a few brand new in the box 80’s vintage Tekna Security Cards from a guy I met on a knife forum I jumped on it and bought three. It took about 20 years but now I have a few brand new, in the box Tekna Security Cards.
The Tekna Security Card is close to the size of a credit card, about 4 times thicker and weighs 1.5 ounces. The body is made of (a quote from the instruction card) “tough structural resin” whatever that is (it sort of feels like aluminum) with a 1.75 inch stainless steel blade that manually slides straight out the front of the handle.

- I Live in Downtown Boston and I Have a Bug Out Bag Ready to go at a Moments Notice In case of Nuclear War = FAIL
In this series of articles (Part 1, 2, 3 and 4) I will go over several different scenarios (natural and man made) and determine the need for a BOB. I will also list (well, suggest) things that you should include in your BOB in separate articles.
So you have your Bug Out Bag (From here on referred to as a “BOB”) with enough food and water for 72 hours along with a fire starting kit, first aid kit, maps, medicine, guns, food for your dog, knifes and camping gear so you can last indefinitely anywhere in the world.
That’s great and I am always encouraged to see people who have prepared for emergencies but…
Well let’s start from the beginning, why would one own a BOB in the first place?
To put it simple: In case something happened that was so devastating one would have to immediately and without warning leave their home and travel in such a way you could only bring what you could carry on your person.
I really can’t think of a natural or manmade disaster that would happen so suddenly I wouldn’t even have time to pack a bag.

The Warlord V-4 New Version, the Haji DVD is for size comparison and because Tropic Thunder is the best movie ever made
I picked up an HSGI Warlord V-4 New Version a few years ago to try out carrying my gear on a chest harness after years of connecting all of my gear to an armor carrier. I had never actually used a Chest Harness in the field before.
But because of my new job I was only armed with a rifle outside of the wire and I didn’t want to walk around with a bunch of unused pouches on my kit.
So I thought the best thing to do was have a clean armor carrier to wear when I was on-base and a chest harness with my rifle mag pouches and other “more than 100 feet form the PX” gear on it. And I wanted the option of being able to throw on a full kit and run within 10 seconds if I had to.
After asking around and checking out the different gear venders online I decided on the Warlord V-4 New Version for a few reasons. HSGI Gear has a great rep from several of my buddies in the field and it had several features that other Chest Harnesses don’t have, like a built in Admin Pouch and huge interior pouches – basically allot of extra storage space for miscellaneous stuff.

- BIG!
My first thought after buying the Cold Steel AK-47 is “this is a big folder”. It has an overall length of 9 ¼ inches with a 3 ½ long 4mm thick AUS A8 Stainless Steel blade.
My AK-47 pictured above came with the G-10 handle and a black Teflon coated blade, Cold Steel has another model that comes with an aluminum handle with a bead blast finish for the blade.
