Welcome Post For: LA POLICE GEAR – DVM Sponsor

LA POLICE GEAR – the home of the tactical tuxedo

Hey guys, I would like to take a minute to welcome LA Police Gear as our first corporate sponsor here on Death Valley Magazine. Bubba W. and Myself have been buying gear from LA Police Gear for many years, it’s a great company that always ships in a timely manor, they also take phone orders (something I wish all gear companies did).

When I was in Iraq nothing frustrated me more than ordering a piece of gear I needed right before I went on a mission, only to come back on base a few days later to an email telling me that whatever I ordered was on back-order/out of stock/hasn’t been shipped yet (but of course, they already charged my credit card).

Well, I never had that problem with LA Police Gear; everything I ordered from them was in-stock and shipped right away. And quite frankly if they weren’t a squared away hot shit gear company – I wouldn’t have accepted them as a sponsor here at DVM.

Also, Sean who is the CEO over at LA Police Gear is a big fan of DVM, he has been sending me emails (way before the idea for a sponsorship came up) over the past month telling me how he loves the articles. He also curses and has the same evil sense of humor that the rest of the Crew here at DVM has, so on a “regular guy” level he is GTG in my book.

So if you need a new 5.11 Tuxedo or something a bit more Grey, then buy yo shit at LA Police Gear or I will kick you in the nuts.

Below are some of the deals LA Police Gear has going on right now:

They have a shit-load of 5.11 stuff on closeout:

They also just bought ALL of the remaining first generation Blackhawk Warrior Wear ITS shirts. These are actually really cool shirts – they have 2 Tourniquets built right into each arm:

LA Police Gear also makes their own line of tactical-cool pants called the “Operator Tactical Pants” – I am not so sure about the name, but they are 18 bucks cheaper than 5.11 for those of you who are on a Tactical Tuxedo budget:

  1. So what affiliate network is this through? Pepperjam, or is LA Policegear doing their own thing for affiliate stuff?

  4. just picked up a pair of 5-11 ten eight duty tanto knives after John B gave a heads up that LA Policegear had them marked down for under $40.

  5. My only issue is the not so good return policy. But you can get some good deals on a Tux.

    1. **Lets try again. Looks like my last post didn’t work**

I haven’t had any experience with their folders, but FWIW they did issue a recall for the knife they were giving away when you bought their products as the locks were prone to failure.

Of course, it was a free knife…not sure if it affects their other knives in the lineup.

      Here’s more information.

  7. No worries, James! It was just the same comment as the one I just posted with the difference that I quoted your post (must’ve been the other links in it).

Check out promotive.com. It’s easy to sign up and there may be a “team” you can join. Kershaw, SOG Knives, and other companies provide very nice discounts for those in the MIL/LEO/FF/EMS fields.

I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is magnificent blog. A fantastic read. I’ll definitely be back.

Brian, I recently signed up for these guys but haven’t used them yet–how have you found the service to be? I used to do the Oakley Special Issue thing but they don’t have a great selection there.

  11. I love it! You deal straight with the manufactures themselves. I emailed the admin of my team (FF) to see if they could get Camelbak to “sponsor” us and he got back to me the next day and said they were in the works of doing so. Promotive doesn’t actually have a hand in the process of ordering; you order straight from the individual companies’ special site they put aside just for us. However, just about all the companies specify that these discounts are only for you. Not for you mother, brother, etc.

They can easily catch you if one day you ordered a size 12 boot for yourself and the next day a size 7 for your wife! I would hate to see these deals taken away because some doofus screwed it up for everyone.

Not say you will, but I’m just putting it out there for anyone else who may sign up at PM. =]

Thanks for the info. And, oh yeah, I know. We’ve lost some darn good programs due to abuse.

  13. Great sponsor really. Been ordering some stuff from them and I have found them a great company every time. They ship to Canada with no hassles and even use regular mail if you want to avoid the bloody ups brokerage scam. Highly recommend them.

    1. Canadian ups brokerage scam?

Do they sell everyone out to customs or something?

Cool that they ship to Canada, didn’t know that

  14. To “negotiate” customs ups charges a fee. That’s on top of any taxes you will have to pay. Doesn’t speed up the process at all – actually will slow it down by days if not a week. Often it can add another $50 to what you pay in the end in my experience.
