GUNS: M41-A Pulse Rifle Fully Operational

I am guessing if you are reading DVM you already know about the all-time greatest fictional gun ever used in a movie – the M41-A Pulse Rifle.

I first saw ALIENS when I was a kid all I could think after watching it was “I want a Pulse Rifle, Flamethrower and Sigourney Weaver is sexy as a Motherfucker”

For those of you who didn’t see the post about this over on Soldier Systems last December – a company called LAGE Manufacturing made a real M41-A Pulse Rifle based off of the one from ALIENS.

The original M41-A Pulse Rifle made for the movie was actually a 45. Thompson and a Remington 870 shotgun (with SPAS-12 parts) wrapped in a shell to make it look cool.

The movie M41-A Pulse Rifle was the standard issue rifle for the US Colonial Marines, it fired 10mm caseless, light armor-parsing explosive rounds with a 20mm pump action grenade launcher underneath.

Is that just straight-up sexy sounding or what?

Nothing more American than Killing Xenomorph’s with a big-ass Pulse Rifle wile protecting children

The M41-A Pulse Rifle that LAGE Manufacturing made (they call it the MAX-41A) is a NFA registered SWD M-11/9 with an Anthony Smith style Suomi upper receiver and a NFA registered Remington 870 short barreled shotgun.

Maybe the kid in me is coming out but I think this is probably the most awesome thing I have seen on the internet outside of porn. I actually went over to and looked for an M-11 and SBS 870 so I could build one of these fuckers myself.

It doesn’t look like LAGE is planning to sell these, considering the whole package is all NFA registered stuff it would probably pack a price equal with the firepower. But if they ever do decide to make it I will sure as shit be the first dude in line – damn the price.

  1. The original was based on a Thompson.. Personally I’d get a semiauto Kahr Thompson and put one of those cheap resin kits for airsoft guns on it. Much cheaper. :p

  2. Totally posting in the “Free Shit” forum when one of these around! :)

  3. It looks very similiar to the G36, especially the cooking handle under the carry handle.

  4. Lage does some cool machine work…their uppers for fast little Mac’s turn them into a serviceable little sub-gun.

  5. I saw this a few months ago and started drooling. I mean this has got to be one of the coolest gun mods I’ve seen in a LOOOONG time.

I love the fact that the counter on the side of it is actually a working round counter. My personal opinion, if it’s not right there in front of your face, it’s almost worthless, but hey, it’s still pretty cool.

    Good post.

  6. Good thing I am not sitting in a building full of guns that also has a machine shop in it. Oh, wait. I am….. Damn that is cool.

  7. That’s a freaking sweet gun.

James, I’m surprised you didn’t post this picture of Sigourney Weaver from her SNL skit.

Age wise, she qualifies as a potential GILF and there are very few of those in my book.

  8. “…if you buy one virgins will throw their underpants at you.” That’s good enough for me!

  9. Subsequent to viewing the pics of the pulse rifle I was simply freaking thrilled that Mr. Lage, the creator of all these wonderful gun products is manufacturing some of them for me. The pulse rifle is BITCHIN, and after the few parts that I have already obtained from his company “Lage Manufacturing L.L.C.” and seeing the quality that is apparant in the products and customer service, I can’t wait to get my hands on my Max-11 Slow Fire Upper Receiver.

  10. I want one!!!!
