- Getting blocked on NIPRNET is almost as gay as Multicam
Well it looks like DVM is blocked on NIPRENT (the DOD non-classified network that most soldiers use to surf the net in places like Iraq and Afghanistan).
Not really sure why, could possibly be the language – but other websites with fuck and shit in every article are not blocked.
Honestly this pisses me off, itâs not like we post smut pictures or talk bad about the military (quite the contrary, we are way pro-Military). I am guessing that we pop-up under some sort of pulse-less blog and “naughty” language filter.

We wish to honor Memorial Day and the Soldiers and Contractors who have fallen wile serving our country
For the guys here with a couple of bucks lying around (I know things are tight and it is the end of the month) please go to www.treatanysoldier.com and buy a care package for a Soldier. You can choose several different care packages from a pack of cookies for 18 bucks (guys in Iraq LOVE these) to a Male Entertainment Package with magazines and DVDâs for 155 (great package of stuff, oddly gay name).
If funds are short you can just buy a 1 buck mini US flag and go to any cemetery, look around for a grave of a solder and place the flag there.

- Kidnapped South African Security Contractors Hardus Greef (left) and Johann Enslin (not pictured: Callie Scheepers and Andre Durant)
Thanks to Matt over at feraljundi for posting a link about this over on his Facebook account.
I remember hearing about this 3 and ½ years ago when I was in Iraq, whenever you hear about a fellow contractor who is killed or wounded it hits you in the gut â but nothing makes you feel a knot in your stomach like hearing about a fellow contractor who has been kidnapped by insurgents.
These guys have been missing for over 3 and ½ years â the US military needs to seriously step up their search for these brave men who were proudly supporting the US Military in Iraq.
In my opinion if these guys were active duty American soldiers the investigation into their kidnapping would not have become stagnant like it is now. Fucking shame on the âpowers that beâ in Iraq for not dedicating an entire team 24/7 – 365 to locating these men and other missing civilian contractors.
Both of the founders of DVM are veteran Civilian Contractors, along with the majority of our current staff. We felt it is important to help draw attention to this situation, generally we donât re-post articles from other websites but this is a special circumstance – so below you can read the article in its entirety C&P from the Times Online (a UK media source).
Our hearts go out to the families of these men
Your fellow contractors have not forgotten you.

- 10 MINUTE TACTICAL TOOLBOX
âSkills You Can Add To Your âTactical Toolboxâ in Only 10 Minutes a Dayâ is our new monthly column where we will present a tactical oriented skill that you can learn in about a month, practicing for 10 minutes a day just about anywhere.
Like most operators, tactical enthusiasts and everyday guys the day is never long enough. If any of you guys are like me you are lucky to hit the range one or two times a month. And taking an entire weekend or week to take a class is a once a year luxury.
So over the years I have learned to pick up random tactical related skills by compacting them into bite-sized bits that are flexible enough for me to practice whenever I have 10 to spare.
Most of these skills arenât âsexyâ like scaling a building wearing black with an MP5 â but in my experience they are essential skills that all prepared individuals should learn.
Myself and the other writers here at DVM will all be writing theses articles drawing from our respective professions and experience.
So every month starting tomorrow (Tuesday, April 06) we will present a tactical skill along with a step by step lesson plan that you can learn over a 30 day period in your spare time. Our goal is to help you add 12 solid skills to your âTactical Toolboxâ every year.

- WEEKEND TACTICAL JOBS
‘Weekend Tactical Jobs’ is our new column about different part-time gigs for tactical enthusiasts and bored office workers. We here at DVM understand that not everyone can just up and quit their job and run out into the jungle with a machete.
So enter WEEKEND TACTICAL JOBS
‘Weekend Tactical Jobs’ are interesting and challenging gigs for guys who enjoy all things tactical. All of the jobs that we will cover are gigs that any guy can do (so astronaut is out) on a part-time basis.
In each ‘Weekend Tactical Jobs’ article we will go over a cool tactical-related vocation, what sort of training you need, Where to find part-time work doing it and the gear you will need.
And the best part of these jobs? All of your gear purchases will be tax deductible after you start working!
So starting Tomorrow (Monday March 15th) we will run our first WEEKEND TACTICAL JOBS article, after then we will publish a new one about every month (maybe a couple times a month, we havenât decided yet).
