So… where are the other comments… oh, wait, I know, they’re all black ops and can’t reveal their presences…. but people need to be reading this stuff!
This is, as far as I know, a unique site; chock full of no-BS information, delivered in a casual and humorous style. Should be required reading. Keep it up. Semper Fi and all the very best to the crew.

Thanks mike, we plan on keeping it going!
We appreciate your complements Julian
And I just added the guestbook, I am trying to bring back some Old School web developing from the 90’s

are there going to be more weapon review?
tim(Quote This Comment)
Yes there is, we have one guy that is going to be our firearms correspondent.
The one problem with firearms reviews is trying to be original. Every new gun that is released is reviewed an every gun blog and gun magazine.
We don’t want to post a story that has already been on every electronic and print firearms media already.
So when you do see firearms here it wont be the usual “new gun review” – we will try and do something different.
~James G
James G(Quote This Comment)
I don’t care much for newest gun. I would be interested in hearing what you used while you worked overseas. I’m a 4 cailber guy, 9mm, 7.62×39, 12 guage and .308.
Tim(Quote This Comment)
Yes, that more of the idea we were thinking about. Articles about running guns in real world applications
Thanks for the comments

Awesome blog, James. Been reading it for sometime now. Refreshing to hear from someone with actual ink on his passport pages rather than some Navy Seal Delta SAS Ranger cranking out shithot “sitreps” from his mom’s basement in between jacking off while watching Roadhouse and rewrapping the paracord on his tiger-striped machete.
Hopefully this gets people thinking for themselves and not lemming their way along through the tactical/expat world.
Now when can we order a “Death Valley Mag: Our Ops Are Blacker Than Your Ops” t-shirt?
Rock on, bro
expatriated(Quote This Comment)
I was thinking about making “Anti-Greyman” t-shirts with PALS webbing all over it so you can hang your MOLLE shit all over it wile hitting the local shopping mall
~James G
James G(Quote This Comment)
OK, I do NOT say this lightly… but this is one of the most hysterically LMFAO comments to show up on DVM.
Julian(Quote This Comment)
Don’t forget the IR patches on the shirts-Never know when you might need to make a hot lz night extraction from the Meadow Hills Galleria. That’s why I always where my rigger’s belt with a couple of ‘biners in my BOB while shopping.
expatriated(Quote This Comment)
Actually, I just “BYOB” when shopping. Makes the time blur faster. And later, when I return back to my AO, I’m always surprised to find out what I’ve bought.

You are seriously funny, astute, and relevant all at the same time. That’s saying a lot! Bravo to you sir, for being a leader in the gun culture, by providing some culture.
Well done, thank you, and I look forward to following your work in the years to come. Keep up the sardonic wit and POV, it works, and somehow, you accomplish pithy points of view without being boorishly moronic or juvenile.

Great site gents, I appreciate your work.
It’s very rare to go to a site with daily updates where you can find something of value in every article. The articles are also comically and efficiently packaged so it’s not like work to read. Again, great job and thank you.
Best,
gg

Somehow I came upon your site and I must say it’s great! Me and a couple of friends are trying to get a security company up and running, it’s been a long process but we almost have all our paperwork together. I will be checking this site at least a couple times a week, I think you guys are doing a great job! If you have anything that might help us please let me know.
Thanks,

Glad I found your site – was getting tired of wading through the Zombie horde/wheat grinding stuff. 20 yrs military (navy) and time in the 3rd world provides some perspective I guess. Like someone else said, ‘survivalist’ to me means getting my camping gear organized plus an excuse to buy some cool stuff. Keep up the great site – love your sense of humor!

Great site! GREAT!
I linked it to several places on my website because I am not clever enough to be this fucking clever (at least not all the time) and I’d like our readers to see it.

James,
I am sitting in Africa and I got to say I love your blog. It has given me hours of enjoyment reading your older articles.
I really like the old man weapons, I have carried a sap for 30 years as a cop in two countries and now as a business man.
Keep up the good work.

Great site.
I’m a prepper / survivalist based in Southern England and find it interesting to see a take on it in another country, especially one where you have the right to bear arms to protect yourself
urbancommando71(Quote This Comment)
I found your site when I received an email from Militia Supply and have read it every day since. As a recently retired cop/swat officer I love the stories and appreciate the humor! Keep it up! Thin blue line.

Glad to see your back James. Figured you retired between a set of stewardesses thighs.

Tks for the site. Good to hear some common sense now and again, since common sense isn’t quite so common anymore. As an old school contractor I enjoy hearing from some of the current high speed, low drag types. Keep it up. Spot on articles.

This is a most excellent web site. Knowing what is going on in the PSD world translates to knowing what is going on, and even for a non-security conrtractor like myself the information is invaluable. I am on my way back over shortly. Thanks for the info.

First I hated this page and now it’s one of my favs. Keep it up! Looking fordward to getting the patch
Daniel A.(Quote This Comment)
Loving the page. I love the no-BS attitude, and the real-world perspective. I’m a volunteer firefighter and a volunteer with my local rescue unit. I’ve read most of the SAR articles, as I’m soon gonna be taking the NC Technical Rescuer: Search class, and felt like I’m ahead of the game. lol. Keep it up, you’re hard work and effort is definitely appreciated from my end!

I’ve been reading DVM for 6 months and just now got around to signing the guestbook? Oh well, better late than never I guess. Keep those articles coming, they’re always entertaining and informative. I’d love to see you guys make the jump to a full online magazine where I could waste my entire afternoon surfing the site, and I’m still waiting on the DVM T-shirts to come out…

I added you on FB thinking you were a friend of mine by the same name and saw the articles in your updates. Started reading them, and am now a fan. I was an Army Medic, and wish I knew about this when I was still in. You need to do some advertising or something to get out there more. I only found you by accident.

I don’t recall how i stumbled on to this site, but I thoroughly enjoy it. Never was an “operator”. I have 39 yrs. of law enforcement,( military and civillian )under my belt. I also spent a number of nights in Bangkok back in the 70′s. Back before AIDS reared it’s ugly head. Sure were some good times. Keep up the great work.

I am presently a Boston cop (17 years last Friday!,) formerly a Boston Public Schools Substitute Teacher (cue the hysterical laughter!) and before that, a USAF Officer for 12 years. Spent eight of that 12 as a Security Police Flight Commander and staff weenie.
Stumbled onto this site after Googling “Grey Man” because I like that EOTAC ad that says, “Don’t wear a Tuxedo to a gunfight. Be the Grey Man…Disappear.”
Best stumble I ever made! I like the Grey Man concept because it’s more important than ever before not to look like a copper off-duty. I came for “Grey Man”….and I’m staying for the rest of the wisdom!

I’m glad to be back in the states. I found your site two weeks prior to a six month deployment with the navy, and it wouldn’t load on our locally available internet…when I had time to try. Your site is hilarious. I also like that you point out practical considerations that are often overlooked by doom and gloom profiteers, end of the world nuts and other posers and wannabe’s. I esp. like the Old School Man series. Any idea when the DVM contractor knife is going to be available?
